Overall rating: 2 Scenic rating: 2 Difficulty rating: 3 Hiked Flat Creek Trail from Deep Gap off Aska Rd. 5.7 miles along an old loggin rd. Bikers were few and well mannered. Hike was moderate. Going counter clock wise it is easy to miss the bridge at Flat Creek. You also have a few places that cause you to back track due to a shortage of blazes. Kudos to those responsible for the drainage under the old rd. I cleared a few out. Garbage was almost zero. It is zero now.

Overall rating: 3 Scenic rating: 2 Difficulty rating: 3 I hiked this in August and there were so many bugs and spider webs that it took away some of the fun. I hiked from Deep Gap to Benton Mackaye and to Falls Branch Falls, so I didn't do the whole trail to Stanley Gap, but almost. There are very poor summer views, but in the winter I may go back because there may be a couple of decent ones there. Falls Branch Falls was disappointing, but it hadn't rained much and might be better after a few storms passed through. So not the best trail, but I would still go back in the winter to try it again.
